While Senator-elect Adam Schiff (D-CA) is widely criticized by conservatives, he unintentionally made a strong case for one of their most prominent allies, Kash Patel, during an appearance on ABC’s This Week.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, President Trump officially nominated Kash Patel for the position of FBI Director in his forthcoming administration. Patel’s qualifications include significant roles in the intelligence and defense sectors under Trump.
During his tenure in counter-terrorism, Patel led efforts to dismantle ISIS’s senior leadership and rescue American hostages, successfully returning them to the United States. Known for his opposition to entrenched bureaucracies, Patel has openly advocated for dismantling the FBI’s Hoover building, describing it as a “museum of the Deep State,” and redeploying FBI personnel across the country to focus on actual threats.
Schiff criticized Patel, specifically targeting comments Patel made during an interview with Shawn Ryan, where he proposed overhauling the FBI. “Let me say with respect to some of the nominees like Kash Patel, this is someone in my view who is not qualified to be FBI Director,” Schiff said. He continued, “This is someone who claimed, for example, that he wanted to shut down FBI headquarters early in his tenure and open a museum to the Deep State. So this is a conspiracy theorist.”

Kash Patel is a total savage. His plans for the FBI are magnificent.

Ironically, Schiff’s disapproval only underscores why Patel’s potential leadership resonates with many conservatives. Patel’s criticism of the FBI comes in the context of controversies surrounding the agency’s recent activities, such as:
• Amplifying false narratives about Hunter Biden’s laptop during the 2020 election.
• Investigating Tara Reade following her allegations against Joe Biden.
• Failing to classify the 2017 congressional baseball shooting as domestic terrorism, despite the shooter targeting Republicans for political reasons.
• Allegedly embedding informants during the January 6 protests.
• Surveillance activities targeting Patel himself.
These incidents have contributed to a growing demand for reform within the FBI, with Patel emerging as a symbol of accountability and change. Schiff’s objections, while critical, have only added fuel to the movement advocating Patel’s confirmation.
