President Trump is widely recognized not only for his success as a leader but also as a sharp political analyst.
In an interview with Time Magazine, Trump discussed the 2024 election and pointed out what he believed to be Kamala Harris’s biggest mistake: accepting the role of a presidential candidate in the first place. Trump remarked that her campaign was doomed from the outset because she failed to understand her strengths. “You have to know what you are good at,” he said, highlighting her inability to connect with voters outside of her traditional media support.
Trump further criticized Harris for not engaging with alternative media sources, saying her refusal to do so “shone a light on her.” He added, “You know, she didn’t do anything. And people said, ‘Is there something wrong with her?’ Why would they? I mean, I’m doing this interview with you. I did interviews with, if I had the time, anybody that would ask, I’d do interviews.”
As TGP readers are aware, Harris’s presidential bid was marked by a series of communication blunders, including awkward interviews that often required heavy editing to salvage her image. Even an interview with a Muslim host turned uncomfortable when she made an ill-advised comment about bacon.
Trump’s assessment stands: had Harris not entered the race, her reputation might have fared better.
