A vessel linked to Colombian narco-terrorists was destroyed on Friday by the Department of Defense, as confirmed by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
On Sunday, Hegseth announced that a ship associated with the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN), a designated terrorist group, was targeted after it was detected operating in the USSOUTHCOM area.
The Secretary disclosed that a “substantial” quantity of narcotics was aboard, and all three male terrorists present were killed in the operation.
Hegseth issued a stern warning to narcoterrorists, stating, “they will be hunted, and killed, just like Al Qaeda.” He emphasized the U.S. military’s commitment to treating these cartels as terrorists, using similar tactics against them.
On October 17th, following President Trump’s directive, the Department of War executed a lethal strike on the vessel, which was known for its involvement in drug trafficking.
The vessel was intercepted in international waters along a recognized narco-trafficking route, and it was confirmed that it was transporting significant amounts of narcotics at the time of the strike. No U.S. forces were harmed during the operation.
These cartels are described as the Al Qaeda of the Western Hemisphere, employing violence and terrorism to threaten national security and endanger American lives. The U.S. military’s stance is clear: they will pursue these organizations relentlessly.
Earlier this month, Trump reported the destruction of another vessel carrying enough narcotics to potentially kill between 25,000 to 50,000 individuals. Just five days prior, another successful strike was announced against a Venezuelan drug vessel, resulting in the deaths of six terrorists.
The U.S. has intensified its focus on narcoterrorists trafficking drugs into the country, demonstrating a commitment to combating this threat.
