Recently, a UFO was spotted in the waters near the coastal city of Rizhao in China. An employee from the marine development authority in the Shandong Province confirmed the sighting and stated that “relevant authorities” are taking steps to bring the object down. However, they did not specify what the object actually was. Fishermen in the area have been advised to take safety precautions.
This news comes just days after the US and Canada took down three high-altitude airborne objects, one of which was said to be a spy balloon sent by China for surveillance purposes. The balloon was thought to have floated over 150 nuclear weapons silos at the Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana and US Strategic Command in Nebraska, which is responsible for controlling the country’s nuclear force.
The military shot down the balloon off the coast of South Carolina, causing three airports to close and airspace to be closed in North and South Carolina. The military is now trying to recover the debris from the balloon, which is spread over seven miles, in order to investigate it further.
A senior State Department official stated that the balloon was capable of collecting intelligence and was part of a larger fleet that has flown over more than 40 countries across five continents. The Biden administration has also determined that the Chinese balloon was operating with electronic surveillance technology that could monitor US communications.
The UK Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace, stated that he would have taken similar action if the balloon posed a threat to the UK. He also believes that China may have already sent a spy satellite over Britain.
