Elon Musk’s America PAC is offering $47 for each successful voter referral that leads to a signature on a free speech petition — but it’s not about registering to vote or even committing to Election Day attendance. The offer targets voters in key swing states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, with an October 21 deadline. This date aligns with the final day for voter registration in Pennsylvania and Michigan for the upcoming election.
The petition itself focuses on pledging support for the First and Second Amendments, two pillars Musk has repeatedly invoked as reasons for backing former President Donald Trump. In a Washington Examiner interview, Musk called this election “the most important in our lifetime.”
“Our goal is to get 1 million registered voters in swing states to sign in support of the Constitution, especially freedom of speech and the right to bear arms,” states the America PAC website. The petition requires signers to provide an email address and cellphone number, which the site promises will be used only for verifying the legitimacy of signers.
On Saturday, Musk appeared with Trump at a Pennsylvania rally, marking Trump’s return to Butler after an assassination attempt in July — a pivotal event that led to Musk publicly endorsing the former president.
