Turning Point USA has experienced a significant increase in requests for new college chapters in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination last week.
Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, announced on Sunday that Turning Point USA (TPUSA) received over 32,000 inquiries within 48 hours from individuals interested in establishing new campus chapters.
“For context, TPUSA currently operates 900 official college chapters and approximately 1,200 high school chapters, totaling around 3,500 chapters nationwide,” Kolvet, also a spokesman for TPUSA, shared on X.
Kolvet remarked, “Charlie’s vision to have a Club America chapter (our high school brand) in every high school in America, which numbers around 23,000, will be realized much faster than he could have ever anticipated,” calling the enthusiastic response to expand Kirk’s mission “truly incredible.”
In another post, he stated, “This is the Turning Point.”
Kirk was tragically assassinated during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, which was intended to be the first in a series called the “American Comeback Tour.”
As the founder of the conservative youth activist group, the 31-year-old Kirk was well-known for his engaging political debates at colleges across the country.
On Thursday evening, Kirk’s family was escorted from Utah to their home state of Arizona on Air Force Two, where a poignant video captured his wife, Erika Kirk, visibly emotional as the casket passed by her. The couple had two young children.
Kirk’s celebration of life is set for next Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with President Donald Trump expected to attend his funeral.
On Friday evening, Kirk’s widow rallied the TPUSA community, pledging to continue her husband’s mission.
“To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die,” she declared. “I refuse to let that happen. No one will ever forget my husband’s name. I will ensure it becomes stronger, bolder, louder, and greater than ever,” she affirmed.
She also confirmed that TPUSA’s annual “AmericaFest” conference in Phoenix this December will proceed as planned.
Judah Waxelbaum, a former campus activist at Arizona State University, suggested that the assassination may have awakened a “sleeping giant,” likely leading to an increase in membership.
“Turning Point’s not going anywhere. I believe it will likely grow significantly following what happened to Charlie,” he told Fox News Digital on Saturday, emphasizing, “You couldn’t engage in youth politics in Arizona, or really anywhere in the U.S., without encountering Charlie Kirk.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve awakened a sleeping giant,” he added.
