Elon Musk Claps Back at Zelenskyy After Ukrainian President Mocks Trump’s Potential Role in Ending Ukraine-Russia War (VIDEO)

Battle of Bakhmut: Ukrainian Soldiers Worry Russians Begin to ‘Taste Victory’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may soon face a harsh reality check after his success in securing billions of dollars from the Biden-Harris administration to fund the ongoing war with Russia.

In an interview on Friday with Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne, Zelenskyy discussed the challenging battlefield conditions and the increasingly dire situation in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces have made significant advances. Despite the gravity of the situation, Zelenskyy dismissed the possibility of President-elect Donald Trump brokering peace, a pledge Trump has made repeatedly, claiming he could end the conflict in just one day.

Laughing off the suggestion, Zelenskyy appeared to mock Trump’s proposal, ignoring that this is the same man who authored the world-famous The Art of the Deal. “No, I think he does not say that,” Zelenskyy said with a chuckle. He added, “We are an independent Ukraine, and it seems to me that during this war, our people, and I personally, in negotiations with the United States and with Trump, Biden, and other European leaders, have proven that with us the rhetoric of sit and just listen is not working.”

Elon Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter) and the incoming co-leader of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), didn’t let Zelenskyy’s comments slide. Musk hit back with a scathing reply, sarcastically mocking the Ukrainian president’s “sense of humor” and linking to a 2021 BBC story describing Zelenskyy as an inexperienced comedian.

As readers of TGP know, Zelenskyy’s career began in entertainment. He was a stand-up comedian and starred in the hit Ukrainian TV series Servant of the People, where he played a high school teacher who unexpectedly became Ukraine’s president after a viral social media rant against government corruption.

Musk’s biting response underscored the contrast between Zelenskyy’s comedic background and the serious challenges he now faces as president. With Trump poised to take action on his foreign policy promises, some might argue Zelenskyy would be better off returning to television. If he fails to achieve results, Ukrainians may begin to focus on his record of alleged corruption.

Below is Zelenskyy’s full interview with Suspilne (Note: it is entirely in Ukrainian).
