On Tuesday, President Donald Trump informed Savannah Chrisley that he intends to issue full pardons for her parents, reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley.
Earlier this year, the “Chrisley Knows Best” couple requested pardons from President Trump. In 2022, they were convicted of conspiring to defraud banks in Atlanta of over $30 million. Todd Chrisley received a 12-year prison sentence, while Julie Chrisley was sentenced to 7 years.
“They believe that the president will seriously consider pardoning both Julie and Todd Chrisley as a result of the unfair treatment they received in the criminal justice system,” said Jay Surgent, the Chrisleys’ attorney, in a phone interview earlier this year.
President Trump personally called Savannah Chrisley to deliver the news.
“Your parents are going to be free and clean and I hope we can do it by tomorrow,” Trump told her. “I don’t know them but give them my regards and wish them a good life.”
An emotional Savannah Chrisley responded, “Thank you so much, Mr. President!”
“They were given a pretty harsh treatment based on what I’m hearing,” Trump added.
