As previously disclosed, a retired U.S. Air Force major general with ties to some of the military’s most sensitive aerospace programs disappeared without a trace in February.
Authorities say Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. William Neil McCasland, 68, vanished from his Albuquerque home on February 27 under circumstances that have raised significant questions, especially given his history with advanced military research and longstanding UFO speculation surrounding one of America’s most secretive bases.
“McCasland held senior roles in space research and acquisition, including leadership positions at the Air Force Research Laboratory and the National Reconnaissance Office, as reported by the Air Force. He held senior roles at the Pentagon and commanded the Phillips Research Site of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, according to the Air Force,” Fox News reported.
“Reza, an aerospace engineer, was the co-creator of Mondaloy, a nickel-based alloy capable of withstanding the extreme heat of rocket engines. At the time of her disappearance, she was the Director of Materials Processing at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL),” Fox News reported.
“Garcia was a government contractor tied to the Kansas City National Security Campus, a key facility responsible for producing the vast majority of non-nuclear components used in the U.S. Nuclear weapons arsenal. His role reportedly gave him high-level security clearance and oversight of sensitive assets,” Fox News reported.
“Grillmair had spent decades working on major NASA-backed missions, including the Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes, contributing to research on galactic structure, dark matter and the search for habitable planets,” Fox News reported.
“On March 17, 2026, a body believed to be Thomas was recovered from Lake Quannapowitt after the ice thawed. Officials remarked no foul play was suspected, though the cause and manner of death have not been publicly disclosed,” Fox News.
On Wednesday, Law & Crime issued bodycam audio of a woman telling law enforcement that McCasland had dinner with Space Force members just hours before he disappeared.
The woman told law enforcement that McCasland wasn’t his usual self at dinner.
“He was the head of Air Force Research Lab, to the point the man’s names are in the UFO documents that are fixed to be made public so he has a very high security clearance,” a woman stated in the audio obtained by Law & Crime.
“I work with Mr. McCasland on the Kirtland Partnership. He’s a board member,” she said.
“We had dinner Thursday evening at Cervantes off of Gibson, at six o’clock with Space Force. And what I noticed, I was shocked this morning when I saw the alert because what I noticed Thursday evening is he wasn’t his usual self. He was kind of spacey and quiet and you know that that happens with people,” she remarked.
