Vice President JD Vance weighed in on the uproar from the left over actress Sydney Sweeney’s recent American Eagle ad, cracking up the hosts of the Ruthless podcast with his blunt take.
As previously reported, American Eagle’s latest campaign starring Sweeney drew fierce backlash from liberal activists. Critics accused the brand of pushing “white supremacist ideology and eugenics” simply because the ad featured a blonde, blue-eyed woman and a play on words—“great genes,” cheekily reworked as “great jeans.”

Some activists went as far as calling the campaign “fascist propaganda,” blasting it as a nod to “Nazi dog whistles” and “nationalist eugenics messaging.” Corporate media outlets and Democratic voices quickly joined the chorus, demanding American Eagle pull the ad and calling for a boycott.
🚨 LMAO! JD Vance just reacted to leftists melting down over Sydney Sweeney

“My political advice to Democrats is continue to tell everyone who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a NAZl” 🤣

During his Friday appearance on Ruthless, Vance didn’t hold back:
“My political advice to Democrats is continue to tell everyone who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi,” Vance said, prompting laughter. “That appears to be their actual strategy.”
He continued:
“It actually reveals something pretty interesting about the Dems, though. You have like a normal, all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad, right? To try to sell jeans to kids in America, and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing.”
Mocking the over-the-top reaction, Vance added:
“It’s like, you guys, did you learn nothing from the 2024 election? Like, I actually thought one of the lessons they might take is ‘we’re gonna be less crazy.’”
“The lesson they have apparently taken is ‘we’re going to attack people as Nazis for thinking Sydney Sweeney is beautiful.’ Great strategy, guys! That’s how you’re gonna win the midterms, especially with young American men.”
He wrapped up his comments by saying:
“So you have a pretty girl doing a jeans ad, and they can’t help but freak out. It reveals a lot more about them than it does us.”
