Speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Tulsi Gabbard claimed that former President Barack Obama and members of his administration may be guilty of a “treasonous conspiracy” aimed at undermining then-President-elect Donald Trump in 2016.
Gabbard made an unexpected appearance during the White House press briefing following the release of a second set of previously classified documents. These materials, according to Gabbard, provide further evidence that Obama directly authorized the discredited Russia collusion narrative.
“The Department of Justice is reviewing all of these documents,” Gabbard told reporters, adding that they contain evidence of criminal activity by Obama.
“I’m leaving the criminal charges to the Department of Justice,” she said when asked if Obama had committed treason. “I am not an attorney, but as I’ve said previously, when you look at the intent behind creating a fake, manufactured intelligence document that directly contradicts multiple assessments that were created by the intelligence community, the expressed intent and what followed afterward can only be described as a years-long coup and treasonous conspiracy against the American people, our Republic, in an attempt to undermine President Trump’s administration.”
A reporter asked Gabbard directly whether she believed President Obama committed treason.
Gabbard replied: “I’m leaving the criminal charges to the Department of Justice. I am not an attorney, but as I’ve said previously, when you look at the intent behind creating a fake, manufactured intelligence document that directly contradicts multiple assessments that were created by the intelligence community, the expressed intent and what followed afterward can only be described as a years-long coup and treasonous conspiracy against the American people, our Republic, in an attempt to undermine President Trump’s administration.”
Last week, upon releasing the initial round of documents, Gabbard stated on X: “These documents detail a treasonous conspiracy by officials at the highest levels of the Obama White House to subvert the will of the American people and try to usurp the President from fulfilling his mandate.”
As previously reported, the Department of Justice has now formed a “strike force” to investigate the alleged plot involving Obama and top intelligence officials.
“This Department takes alleged weaponization of the intelligence community with the utmost seriousness,” the DOJ said in a press statement.
