Bill Maher, host of “Real Time” on HBO, mocked Hunter Biden on Friday in response to First Lady Melania Trump’s threatened $1 billion lawsuit over Biden’s claim that Jeffrey Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump before their marriage.
Melania and President Trump have both maintained that they first met at a Fashion Week party in New York City in 1998. Despite this, Hunter Biden—who has faced his own controversies—recently accused the Trump family of ties to Epstein’s crimes.
“Melania says she’s going to sue Hunter Biden,” Maher said on his show. “That’s not the joke part. That’s real.”
“She says she’s going to sue for $1 billion. That’s kind of funny,” he continued. Maher then added, “If Hunter loses, it’s going to be weird for him, writing a woman a check because she’s not a prostitute.”
Biden’s remarks came during an interview with Channel 5 host Andrew Callaghan, where he alleged Epstein introduced Melania and Donald Trump. Following the interview, Melania Trump’s attorneys sent a letter to Biden and his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, demanding a retraction and apology for the “false, defamatory, disparaging, misleading and inflammatory statements about Mrs. Trump.” They warned of a $1 billion lawsuit if he failed to comply.
Hunter Biden responded dismissively, saying, “f*ck that.” When asked about apologizing, he replied, “That’s not going to happen.”
