In a recent interview with Roseanne Barr on Wednesday, Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host and media trailblazer, revealed the defining moment that propelled him into being a proactive advocate for former President Donald Trump.
While consistently in agreement with Trump’s policies, Carlson pointed to the FBI’s August 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago, where more than 300 classified documents were seized, as the catalyst for his heightened support.
“I’ve consistently supported Trump—I mean, I’ve always been in sync with his policies, always, and I’ve even lost friends over it,” shared Carlson. “I’ve never actively supported anyone because that’s not my role; I prefer to observe. However, my transition into being an active Trump supporter occurred last summer, in 2022, when Mar-a-Lago was raided. That’s unacceptable.”
While emphasizing his backing for Trump, Carlson asserted that even if he disagreed with the former president on numerous issues, he believed the Justice Department shouldn’t undermine any presidential candidate.
“It’s beyond Trump; it’s beyond Biden. It’s about living in a free country with a functional justice system. So, I’m endorsing Trump, and if they convict him, I’ll contribute the maximum donations and lead protests. That’s my stance,” declared Carlson.
He critiqued the justice system for its treatment of Trump, drawing a comparison with President Joe Biden. Despite Biden having classified material in his private spaces, he faces no charges. The FBI seized approximately 20 boxes from Trump’s estate, containing binders, a handwritten note, and the executive grant of clemency for Roger Stone, after Trump refused to surrender the documents as requested by the National Archives and Records Administration. Trump contends that all documents were “declassified” and securely stored.
In contrast, Biden’s lawyers discovered ten classified documents in his private office concerning Ukraine, Iran, and the U.K. in November 2022, with more found in his Delaware home garage in the following month. Robert Hur, the special counsel investigating Biden’s classified documents, recently suggested that charges are unlikely to be filed.
