President Donald Trump has requested that the Supreme Court of the United States intervene before his sentencing.
In a Truth Social post on Sunday, Trump pointed out that his sentencing hearing for the guilty verdict in his hush money case is set just four days before the Republican National Convention, where he is expected to be officially nominated as the GOP presidential candidate.
Trump also criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, accusing him of running on an “I will get Trump” platform. Last week, a jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts, and his team plans to appeal the verdict.
The Supreme Court is already considering presidential immunity and its application to other cases involving Trump. The court has a six-to-three conservative majority, with three justices appointed by Trump.
