At a campaign event in Tempe, Arizona, Fox News reporter Bill Melugin asked Donald Trump if he would consider pardoning Hunter Biden in the name of unity if re-elected. Trump replied, “I wouldn’t do anything that would be overt in terms of Hunter. It’s a sad situation.”
He referenced previous charges against himself, criticizing the Biden administration for weaponizing the “department of injustice” against him. Though acknowledging the challenges of political prosecutions, he stated, “I wouldn’t take it off the books.” He concluded, “Hunter’s a bad boy… it’s very bad for our country.”
President Joe Biden has said he would respect the jury’s decision and not pardon his son before leaving office.
