During a campaign event in Tempe, Arizona, Fox News reporter Bill Melugin asked Donald Trump if he would consider pardoning Hunter Biden if elected, given Trump’s focus on national unity.
Trump responded, saying he would not act “overtly” regarding Hunter, describing the situation as “sad.” He mentioned he could have taken similar actions against Hillary Clinton but refrained, emphasizing his belief that using the Justice Department against political opponents is damaging to the country.
Trump also contrasted his approach with President Joe Biden, who has said he would respect the jury’s decision regarding his son.
Trump pointed out his own legal battles, mentioning charges brought against him, and criticized the Biden administration for using the “department of injustice” to target him. He clarified that while he wouldn’t necessarily take a pardon off the table for Hunter, he sees it as harmful for the nation, saying, “And Hunter’s a bad boy… But I happen to think it’s very bad for our country.”
