At a rally in Scranton, PA, on Wednesday, former President Donald Trump predicted a split between President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of next month’s election. Speaking to his supporters, Trump suggested that Biden has been “angry” since dropping out of the race in July, claiming it was the result of a Democratic “coup.”
“He’s angry, he’s angry at her,” Trump said. “There’s going to be an explosion before the election with them. Those two are going to be, there’s going to be an explosion.”
Referring to Biden holding a press conference while Harris was at a rally in Michigan, Trump remarked, “He got up and held a news conference… Can you believe our country is being run by these people?”
Although Biden has publicly shown support for Harris, endorsing her as a continuation of his legacy, Trump’s comments raised questions about potential discord in the Democratic camp. Trump’s rally in Scranton comes as the election draws closer, with Pennsylvania seen as a critical battleground state.
Locals in Scranton, where Biden was born, expressed their frustrations with the Democratic leadership, with some saying they’re ready for a change. Many of Trump’s supporters at the event shared their dissatisfaction with Biden’s presidency and voiced their backing for Trump and his running mate, JD Vance.
Jennifer Buckman, a retired Air Force veteran from Lake Ariel, recalled meeting Trump in 2020, saying, “He loved the military and he was thankful for the military.” Several attendees expressed similar sentiments, emphasizing their belief in Trump’s commitment to the armed forces and the need for new leadership.
