President Donald Trump has no reason to tolerate the establishment media’s persistent antics. Despite public distrust, certain reporters continue to expose themselves as unwavering in their bias.
During a Tuesday White House press briefing, NBC News chief White House correspondent Peter Alexander repeatedly interrupted the president, earning a stern rebuke from Trump, who typically displays significant patience in such situations.
“Listen to me for a second. Stop interrupting,” Trump said during one of the interruptions. While short clips of the exchange circulated on X, formerly Twitter, they failed to capture the full extent of Alexander’s persistence or Trump’s measured responses.

The tension began with Alexander questioning Trump’s decision to pardon over 1,500 individuals imprisoned during what the administration considers unjust actions under former President Joe Biden. Instead of directly addressing the fairness of the pardons, Alexander framed it as a possible endorsement of violence against law enforcement.
Trump responded thoughtfully, referencing his support for police officers through an unrelated case. Less than three seconds into his response, however, Alexander cut him off. Despite the interruptions, Trump maintained composure, eventually pointing to the disproportionate leniency shown by certain district attorneys compared to the harsh treatment of the January 6 detainees—referred to by Trump as “J6 hostages.”
“They’ve served years in jail,” Trump said of those pardoned. “They should not have served—excuse me,” he added as Alexander interrupted him once more.
After the third interruption, Trump had enough.
“Listen to me for a second. Stop interrupting. They’ve served years in jail. And if you look at the American public, the American public is tired of it,” Trump said.
Trump concluded by emphasizing how the 2024 election was a clear mandate against the media establishment.
“We won this election in a landslide because the American public is tired of people like you that are just one-sided, horrible people in terms of crime. You don’t talk about all the people that have been killed and what happens to those murderers. Murderers get no time. You take a look at some of these DAs. They go after political opponents, but they don’t go after people that shoot people in the street,” he said.
The exchange highlighted the president’s confidence in standing up to what many Americans see as a biased press. Trump’s focus on criminal justice issues contrasted sharply with Alexander’s focus on the pardons, underscoring the divergent narratives between Trump and establishment journalists.
In this moment, Trump reminded reporters that the American people are tired of their behavior and media misrepresentation. If the establishment media is unwilling to adapt to this reality, they can expect more pointed exchanges from the president in the future.
