President Donald Trump has issued a challenge, demanding that Joe Biden take a drug test before their upcoming debate. This demand was made during Trump’s speech at the GOP’s annual Lincoln Reagan dinner event in St. Paul, Minnesota, following his son Barron’s high school graduation celebration.
At the event, Trump questioned Biden’s performance during the State of the Union address in March, stating his intent to demand a drug test for the debate. He criticized Biden, suggesting he was “high as a kite” during the address and appeared “jacked up” at the start but “fading fast” by the end.
Trump emphasized his determination to demand the test, expressing skepticism about what Biden might be using and calling the State of the Union address the worst he had ever seen.
This isn’t the first time Trump has questioned Biden’s behavior. Last month, in an interview with radio broadcaster Hugh Hewitt, Trump suggested that something might be going on with Biden, insinuating that drugs could be involved. He referenced the discovery of cocaine at the White House and linked it to his suspicions about Biden, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Trump observed Biden’s performance during the State of the Union, noting that he seemed energized at the start but faded by the end, further fueling his suspicions. This call for a drug test before the debates is consistent with Trump’s stance from the 2020 presidential campaign, when he also demanded Biden be tested prior to their debates. At that time, Trump expressed his belief that Biden might be using performance-enhancing drugs.
In an interview with Laura Ingraham, Trump remarked that Biden’s performance in earlier debates had been poor, but he seemed unusually competent during the debate with Bernie Sanders, suggesting that Biden might be using some form of enhancement.
