Former President Donald Trump emerged as the clear victor in Tuesday’s debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a statement from his campaign posted later that night.
“President Trump DOMINATES the 3-on-1 debate,” campaign spokesperson Stephen Cheung wrote in a post on X. The “3-on-1” remark refers to Trump’s comment after the debate, in which he said, “We had three against one,” pointing to the roles ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis played, according to Fox News.
“President Trump delivered a masterful debate performance tonight, prosecuting Kamala Harris’ abysmal record of failure that has hurt Americans for the last 4 years,” the statement from campaign chairs Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles read.
The statement praised Trump’s ability to present “a bold vision of America” while outlining plans to “supercharge the economy, secure the border, and stop crime from ravaging communities.”
In contrast, it claimed Harris represented “a dark reminder of the oppressive, big government policies of Joe Biden,” characterized by high inflation, an open border, and weak stances on crime.
“The choice could not be more clear— President Trump was the clear winner tonight, and he will win for America when he returns to the White House,” the statement concluded.
ABC’s moderators also came under fire on social media. “These moderators are a disgraceful failure and this is one of the most biased, unfair debates I have ever seen,” Megyn Kelly posted on X. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton similarly commented, “It isn’t ‘fact-checking,’ it is attacking.”
Trump echoed this sentiment, saying, “It was a rigged deal… It was a three-on-one— that’s OK, I’ve had worse odds before, but never so obvious,” adding that “ABC took a big hit last night” and suggesting they “ought to take away their license for the way they did that.”
