Former President Donald Trump is calling for the members of the committee to be tried for treason because they refused to share important footage that Tucker Carlson aired. He’s also demanding that all jailed prisoners and suspects from that day be released.
‘The Unselect Committee of political Hacks & Thugs has been totally discredited,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
‘They knowingly refused to show the Videos that mattered. They should be tried for Fraud and Treason, and those imprisoned and being persecuted should be exonerated and released, NOW’.
Carlson has been given a whopping 40,000 hours of footage from inside the Capitol, which was said to be for more transparency. On Tuesday, he aired an interview with a Capitol cop who wore a MAGA hat during the riot and soon resigned from the force. The cop expressed that he had no future there after feeling that his bosses had failed him and he affirmed that the commanders were not well prepared that day.
Johnson, the cop, shared how his superiors didn’t give him permission to evacuate the Senate chambers when he initially requested it. So, he took matters into his own hands and ignored the chain of command. In addition, Johnson spoke up about the failures of the Capitol Police and said that the January 6 Committee never contacted him to testify.
Some people who were there that day were violent, while others thought they were patriots acting in support of their president. According to Johnson, some just wanted to back him up, with no intention of committing any violence.
