While calling on Americans to reject divisive rhetoric, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has a record of making extreme and inflammatory remarks.
In a recent interview, Walz urged the country to embrace unity and civil debate. “The president has done this, knowingly divided. He uses words like, ‘the enemy,’ ‘the enemy within,’ and we’ve never used that language,” Walz said.
However, Walz himself has used harsh rhetoric in the past. At a DNC summer meeting, he shouted, “Think about how easy it would be to be a damn Republican. Oh, what should I wear today? This stupid, freaking, red hat. What should I say today? I don’t know, just make sure it’s cruel. Who do we listen to? That guy, oh, the felon in the White House.”
“That’s not divisive at all,” BlazeTV host Pat Gray said sarcastically on “Pat Gray Unleashed.”
Gray also pointed to another moment when Walz boasted, “My record is so pro-choice, Nancy Pelosi asked me if I should tone it down. I stand with Planned Parenthood, and we won!”
In a congressional hearing, Walz was pressed on his past remark calling ICE agents under Trump’s orders “a modern-day Gestapo.” Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) challenged him, saying, “Do you realize how disgusting that is considering the history of Nazi Germany? Would you like to recant that statement?”
Walz responded, “What I said congressman, and I have a long history of supporting law enforcement, I said President Trump was using them as his modern-day Gestapo.”
“Right,” Gray reacted. “That’s the problem.”
