House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., visited Donald Trump on Monday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida to discuss strategies for the upcoming November general election.

Johnson posted on X a photo of him and Trump at Mar-a-Lago, both giving a thumbs-up. He expressed confidence in the unity of the Republican Party and their prospects of returning Trump to the White House, reclaiming the Senate, and expanding their House majority.

Johnson’s previous visit to Mar-a-Lago in April occurred amid a challenge from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., after Johnson relied on Democratic support to pass a significant spending bill in March, preventing a partial government shutdown.

Trump voiced his support for Johnson during that visit, and Greene’s motion to vacate was later overwhelmingly dismissed by the House in early May.

Last Thursday, Johnson and Trump met again when Trump returned to Capitol Hill for the first time since January 6, 2021, addressing House and Senate Republicans.

At a subsequent news conference, Johnson emphasized the need for Republican leadership to address the nation’s challenges and mentioned productive discussions with Trump about post-election plans. Johnson conveyed enthusiasm about their working relationship and the future.
