Senator Ted Cruz expressed a sentiment he never thought would occur by stating that he misses President Barack Obama. This unexpected longing comes amidst the current migrant crisis, which is placing significant strain on states like Texas due to the overwhelming challenges at the southern border.
“Joe Biden has made me do something I never thought I would do, which is miss Barack Obama,” the Texas Republican said in an interview with John Catsimatidis on Tuesday’s “Cats & Cosby” radio show.
“Look, I disagreed with Obama on a lot of policies but on immigration, by and large, Obama followed the law,” Cruz explained. “What Joe Biden has done is what no president of either party has ever done. He utterly ignores the law.”
In response to a query from Catsimatidis regarding whether President Biden had breached his oath to safeguard the U.S. borders, Senator Cruz affirmed, “Absolutely.” Cruz emphasized that the sole means of ameliorating the border crisis is to elect a new president who will genuinely uphold and enforce the law.
“The scope of the crisis at the border, it really does defy words until you see it firsthand,” he added. “As bad as you think it is, I promise you, it is worse.”
Senator Cruz asserts that over 10,000 individuals are unlawfully crossing the southern border into the United States daily, amounting to a total of 9.6 million people under the Biden administration. According to Cruz, groups of undocumented migrants are voluntarily surrendering to U.S. Border Control, attributing this phenomenon to the Biden administration’s practice of asking them, “Where do you want to go?” and subsequently directing them to the specified city or state of their choice.
Cruz went on to highlight New York Mayor Eric Adams’ acknowledgment of the influx of migrants to the city, characterizing it as a crisis that is detrimentally impacting the Big Apple.
“That is with 110,000 illegal immigrants,” he said. “So I agree, New York is paying a real price for the Biden open border, but if 110,000 is destroying New York City, what the hell do you think 9.6 million is doing to Texas and the rest of the southern border?”
