Melania Trump, the former First Lady and spouse of the current leading GOP presidential candidate, Donald Trump, is reportedly urging him to consider Tucker Carlson as his running mate.
Tucker, the former host of Fox’s top news program, faced rumors of dismissal in April for supporting the former president and alleging political bias in President Biden’s Department of Justice.
Carlson echoed Trump’s stance on the Jan. 6 Capitol incident, suggesting Democratic involvement and criticizing decisions like Speaker Pelosi’s handling of the National Guard. Since departing Fox News, Tucker has hosted an opinion-based news program on X (“Tucker on Twitter”).
Axios recently disclosed Melania’s strong push for Carlson to join her husband on the GOP ticket, despite Trump facing legal challenges. Despite these challenges, Trump is anticipated to secure the nomination easily.

The Daily Caller conveyed Trump’s liking for Carlson but noted his hesitation in considering him as VP due to Carlson’s substantial following and strong personality, which could potentially overshadow the spotlight. In an interview with Outkick’s Clay Travis and Buck Sexton, Trump lauded Carlson, describing him as a man of “great common sense.”
Speculation surrounds Trump’s potential selection of a female Vice President, with names like Nikki Haley, Kari Lake, Elise Stefanik, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders being considered top contenders. Carlson, in a recent interview, revealed he became an “active Trump supporter” following the FBI’s raid on Trump’s home and office in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, in August. The subsequent leaks, staged photos, and the FBI’s refusal to disclose seized items fueled public sympathy for Trump and boosted his popularity in polls.

In a November 30th interview, Carlson emphasized the significance of the 2024 election, stating, “It’s beyond Trump and Biden. It’s about whether you want to reside in a free country with a functional justice system. I’m supporting Trump, and if he’s convicted, I’ll contribute the maximum donations and lead protests. That’s my stance.”
