Vice President JD Vance erupted during a heated exchange with an Associated Press reporter who implied he was “protecting pedophiles” during his visit to a steel factory in Ohio, where he was promoting tax cuts.
During a Q&A session, the reporter said:
“I guess I’m going to be that person. There are some protestors outside accusing the GOP of protecting pedophiles.”

He continued:
“I got to make an observation. There’s an interesting thing about this case that the American media seems to totally ignore.”
“For four years under Joe Biden’s Department of Justice, the media didn’t give a damn about the Epstein files or about the Epstein case. For literally 20 years, the story about this scumbag…”

Vance went on:
“For 20 years you had Obama and George W. Bush’s DOJ go easy on this guy… they didn’t fully investigate the case… and now Donald J. Trump is asking his DOJ to show full transparency and somehow that’s a criticism of Donald J. Trump and not Barack Obama and George W. Bush.”

As the Department of Justice seeks to unseal grand jury materials from the Epstein investigation, Ghislaine Maxwell reportedly provided information to DOJ officials last week concerning “100 different people.”
Meanwhile, Maxwell’s legal team is pushing for the Supreme Court to take up her appeal, with a decision expected in late September.
