Kamala Harris seems to be getting a bit desperate these days. After avoiding it for weeks, she finally caved to pressure and agreed to do an interview with a friendly network—something that should have been routine. However, she felt the need to bring along her “emotional support Governor,” Tim Walz, to back her up. As CNN’s Scott Jennings put it, that’s pretty “weak sauce.”
Harris will be increasingly pushed to clearly articulate her positions and appear competent. But for now, she seems to be coasting on vibes, wishful thinking, and even borrowing some policies from former President Donald Trump.
We’ve seen her attempt to boost rally attendance by bringing in musicians to create the illusion of strong support. On Wednesday, she got called out for posting a letter that many saw as intentionally misleading. The letter was signed simply “Tucker,” claiming to be “fairly conservative” and expressing “gratitude” to Harris and Joe Biden for their “efforts to establish common sense gun safety laws.”
“Tucker, thank you for writing to me. While we may not agree on every issue, we both know that every person in our nation should have the freedom to live safe from gun violence. The majority of Americans stand with us in support of commonsense gun safety legislation,” Harris responded.
The first problem here is obvious: anyone seeing the name “Tucker” would immediately think of Tucker Carlson. This makes the letter deliberately misleading. Secondly, anyone with common sense would realize it’s not Carlson, though it might fool some on the left. Third, no genuine conservative would write a letter using phrases like “common sense gun safety laws.” The letter even mentions things like age restrictions and background checks, which already exist. If an actual person wrote it, they certainly don’t sound conservative. It’s also amusing that the letter-writer made sure to thank and acknowledge both Harris and Biden—ensuring she wouldn’t be accused of taking credit without him. And honestly, who even knows she heads the White House Office on Gun Violence Prevention? Yet, the writer thanks her for that.
Some speculated that the letter was AI-generated.
Following this, others took up the challenge of writing their own letters to Kamala. Among them was the real Tucker Carlson, who delivered the final blow with his own letter from “Kamala.” Click on to see the full letter.
The letter, with little hearts over the “i’s,” describes Kamala as “moderately progressive” and someone who “doesn’t believe in law enforcement, national borders, or the right of American citizens to exercise fundamental human autonomy.” She humorously claims to agree with everything she heard on Carlson’s show with Bobby Kennedy Jr.:
“I turned to Montel and said, ‘I was very wrong about this man. So, so very wrong. The way he talks. He’s so bold and wise and strong. He’s immovable. Like a towering oak tree in a wind storm, he sways gently but never breaks. His trunk is so broad and firm and rooted to the earth. I can’t imagine the size of his root ball.’ I was so impressed!”
She thanks him and says he’s shown her something about herself and the world that she’ll never forget. “Until we meet,” she signs off with “OXOXO Kamala,” complete with a heart and a smiley face.
