A recent Harvard-Harris survey discovered that six out of ten individuals harbor doubts regarding President Joe Biden’s mental acuity.
The survey posed the question, “Do you believe Joe Biden is mentally capable of fulfilling his duties as President of the United States, or do you have reservations about his ability to do so?”
A majority, 59 percent, expressed uncertainty about Biden’s mental fitness, in contrast to 41 percent who did not share such concerns. Notably, the survey highlighted that nearly one-third of Democrats, totaling 32 percent, harbor reservations about Biden’s cognitive abilities, while 66 percent of independents hold similar doubts.
Moreover, the survey indicated that 67 percent of respondents believe Biden is “demonstrating signs of being too old” for the presidency. This sentiment is shared by 40 percent of Democrats, 92 percent of Republicans, and 68 percent of independents.
Conducted among 2,022 registered voters on February 21-22, the survey underscores ongoing apprehensions regarding Biden’s physical and mental aptitude, particularly following the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report. While Hur opted not to pursue charges against Biden for mishandling classified information, his report contained startling revelations about Biden’s cognitive decline.
According to the report, Biden could struggle to convince a jury of his innocence due to his advanced age and diminished mental faculties. It also disclosed instances where Biden failed to recall key details, such as his tenure as vice president and the death of his son, Beau.
Biden is scheduled to deliver his State of the Union (SOTU) address on Thursday at 9:00 pm ET, with Trump anticipated to provide live commentary during the event.
