Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared to slur her words while speaking at the “Voters of Tomorrow” summit in Washington, D.C., on Friday.
Pelosi and Vice President Kamala Harris headlined the event, which focused on engaging young voters. According to the group hosting the event, “Speaker Emerita @TeamPelosi just spoke about the power of organizing to address issues Gen Z cares about — from affordability to the climate crisis to healthcare. Our VOT chapters are mobilizing on the ground to make that happen.”

During her remarks, the 85-year-old Pelosi criticized capitalism and high-earning CEOs. “This is unfair, this is unjust, this is undemocratic, it’s wrong, it’s shameful and it must be changed,” she said, referring to CEO compensation compared to average worker pay.
Critics noted the irony of Pelosi’s comments given her reported financial gains from stock trades while serving in Congress.
Pelosi also went off-script at one point, saying, “I’m from Baltimore…any Californians here?”

Pelosi has faced health challenges in recent years, including a hip replacement surgery following a fall during an overseas trip with a congressional delegation. She fractured her hip after losing her footing on a marble staircase.
She was also seen using a walker during the 2024 election certification. “Nancy Pelosi uses a walker today in Congress,” another user noted earlier this year. Additional footage showed her relying on aides and walking sticks while moving to her vehicle. “Nancy Pelosi can’t get anywhere without her aids and her little walker. We need term limits NOW!” one post stated.
