President Biden is set to enlist the support of his former running mate Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to reinforce his assertion that he has made healthcare more accessible and therefore merits re-election.

Reportedly, Obama and Pelosi will join Biden for a virtual rally alongside activists on Saturday, marking the 14th anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, according to Politico. This event aims to highlight what Biden’s advisers perceive as one of his strongest arguments for a second term.

Jen O’Malley Dillon, chair of Biden’s re-election campaign, emphasized the significance of the Affordable Care Act to both Obama and Pelosi, stating, “It really shows what it means to have leaders fighting for you and doing things people thought were impossible.”

The anniversary event for Obamacare will be accompanied by a digital advertising campaign in crucial swing states where Biden is expected to concentrate his campaigning efforts, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

In his State of the Union address, Biden underscored his achievements in reducing healthcare costs and criticized his presumed 2024 opponent, former President Donald Trump, for his unsuccessful attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act during his tenure.

Furthermore, Biden highlighted his administration’s efforts to curb prescription drug expenses for Medicare recipients and implement tax credits to alleviate the burden of healthcare premiums.

Biden’s appearance with Obama on Saturday coincides with a scheduled reunion with his predecessor, former President Bill Clinton, for a fundraising event in New York City hosted by Stephen Colbert. Tickets for the fundraiser start at approximately $250, with opportunities for attendees to secure photos with all three presidents for $100,000 or participate in separate functions by donating $250,000 or $500,000. The event, expected to draw over 3,000 attendees, could generate over $10 million in contributions for the Biden campaign.
