Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, an establishment Republican, was widely mocked online over a tweet of her own remarks from a speech in which she suggested that she would be the next president of the United States.
Haley made the remarks while delivering the keynote address at the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) 2022 Washington Summit in Arlington, Virginia.
Her comments came within the context of talking about the possibility that Democrat President Joe Biden could sign a new nuclear agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran, even though Iran says that they are now capable of building a nuclear weapon.
“And if this president signs any sort of deal, I’ll make you a promise,” Haley tweeted, “The next President will shred it – on her first day in office.”
Haley generated instant backlash online with her remarks as many notable figures openly mocked her.
“She will be president of nothing,” attorney and columnist Kurt Schlichter tweeted. “I voted against Jeb! in 2016 and I will vote against him again when he’s wearing a skirt and named Nikki.”
“She can continue to run her grift, the Liberty Forum for Families and Eagle Forum,” Schlichter added separately.
“Any GOP president will shred the deal, which is why they’re gonna try another way,” National security expert and political commentator David Reaboi tweeted. “But regardless, you won’t be president.”
“Imagine how long her staff workshopped this line,” political commentator Jack Posobiec quipped.
Kaelan Door, a former Trump official, compared Haley to twice failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, writing: “She’ll melt it with the hot sauce in her bag, while chillin’ in Cedar Rapids amirite?”
“Hillary Clinton levels of cringe,” former Trump White House special assistant to the president Steven Cheung tweeted.
“With all due respect, we want DeSantis,” political commentator Harrison Krank tweeted.
