The Biden-Harris administration’s record “speaks for itself,” and not in a positive way, according to former first lady Melania Trump.
In an exclusive interview with “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt, Melania discussed Vice President Harris potentially replacing President Biden as the Democratic nominee, saying the country is facing many challenges under their leadership—unlike during her husband’s presidency.
“The country is suffering. People are struggling to buy basic necessities for their families. We have wars around the world, and soldiers are dying under this administration due to weak leadership. The border is open and dangerous, with fentanyl flooding in and killing our youth. It’s very difficult to watch,” she said.
Speaking about the economy, she added, “It’s really not great. Inflation is high, and if we compare these four years under this administration to my husband’s time as commander in chief, he led the country with peace through strength. The border was more secure than ever, there were no wars, and people were prospering. They had jobs and could support their families. I think the American people need to decide what they want. Maybe there were some strong tweets, but everything else was great for the country. It’s in the American people’s hands on November 5th.”
The interview was Melania’s first television appearance in over two years, coinciding with the upcoming release of her memoir, “Melania.”
During the conversation, she also reflected on the two attempts on her husband’s life that occurred within a two-month period.
The first incident involved gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, who shot at the former president during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The bullet struck Trump’s ear, causing blood to stream down his face. The attack also claimed the life of former Pennsylvania fire chief Corey Comperatore and injured rally-goers David Dutch and James Copenhaven.
“I ran to the TV and [rewound] it. I didn’t see it live but watched a few minutes later. When I saw him on the floor, I didn’t know what had really happened,” Melania recalled.
Just two months later, another attempt on Trump’s life occurred at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, when a gunman was spotted among the bushes.
Melania, who was in New York at the time, called to check on her husband’s safety. She praised the Secret Service for their “fantastic” work, saying, “Both events were miracles. On July 13th, it was just that much—he could have not been with us.”
