President Trump on Sunday hinted at the possibility of regime change in Iran following U.S. airstrikes on three nuclear facilities.
“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
On Saturday night, Trump announced that the U.S. military had successfully bombed three major Iranian nuclear sites.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump stated.
Reports indicate that U.S. B-2 bombers deployed at least six 30,000-pound bunker-busting bombs on the Fordow nuclear facility, claiming the site was completely destroyed.
During a short address from the White House Saturday night, Trump warned that further military action would follow if Iran retaliates.
The B-2 bombers involved in the operation returned to Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri on Sunday.
Trump also marked the return of the bombers with a celebratory post.
On the same day, Iran’s ambassador to the U.S. accused America of choosing to “destroy diplomacy,” adding that Iran’s military will determine the “timing, nature and scale” of its response.
