Kamala Harris wasted no time in capitalizing on Taylor Swift’s recent endorsement. The Democratic National Committee and the Harris campaign have launched digital billboards in New York’s Times Square and along the Las Vegas Strip, drawing inspiration from Swift’s albums and lyrics.
One billboard declares, “We’re in Our Kamala Era!” while another reads, “A New Way Forward… Ready for It?”
The billboards reportedly went live in both cities on Friday, following Swift’s Instagram post late Tuesday in which she endorsed Harris. The post, timed to follow the presidential debate, expressed her personal support while encouraging her followers to do their own research and vote as they see fit.
Swift’s measured endorsement comes amid Harris’s unpopularity with some young progressive voters due to her stance on the war in Gaza. Anti-Israel progressives have protested at Harris’s events, including last month’s DNC gathering.
Swift’s public support for Harris also followed a Variety column published just two days earlier, criticizing the singer’s silence on the 2024 election and calling it “regrettable,” putting pressure on Swift to engage.
