Joe Biden made a visit to Philadelphia over the weekend to assess the damage caused by a collapsed highway.
Early on Sunday morning, a section of the northbound lanes on Interstate-95 (I-95) gave way due to an explosion caused by a burning tanker truck.
During a press briefing on the reconstruction efforts, Democratic Senator John Fetterman, who has suffered from brain damage, joined Joe Biden.
While praising Biden, Fetterman spoke incoherently, using nonsensical language.
At one point, Biden attempted to lighten the mood by sharing an awkward joke with the audience, but it was met with complete silence and no reaction.
“I might add that if I didn’t, I’ll be sleeping alone,” Biden remarked, but there was no response from the audience. He then tried to clarify, saying, “I better explain that some more. My wife is a Philly girl.”
However, even after the explanation, the silence persisted.
Realizing the joke had fallen flat, Biden tried to recover by changing the subject and asking, “Alright, where are we going?”
It was an uncomfortable moment for Biden, as captured in a video.
