James Comer Declares Deep State’s Days Are Numbered Under Trump

Republicans to Cite FBI Director Wray for Contempt of Congress Regarding Biden Document

The FBI is one of the key government agencies the incoming Trump administration plans to overhaul, a move supported by Rep. James Comer, who criticized the bureau’s current leadership for straying from its “core mission” of pursuing criminals and instead targeting “anyone that they feel is a threat to their deep state supremacy.”

“The days of the deep state are about to end under Donald Trump,” Comer said during an appearance on Fox News Live. “He’s put the right people in place at the Department of Justice, at the CIA, at the FBI, and I think this is what the American people voted for. They knew under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, we’ve had a two-tiered system of justice in America. Juries across America have lost confidence in FBI testimony.”

Comer further claimed that the FBI’s reputation is “so tarnished” it will require someone like Kash Patel, Trump’s recent nominee for FBI director, to restore public trust in the bureau. The chairman of the House Oversight Committee also expressed excitement over Patel’s nomination, emphasizing the need to “purge” the FBI’s leadership under current director Christopher Wray.

Comer also voiced enthusiasm about the incoming Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will be co-led by billionaires Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. He noted that House Republicans have long sought to achieve “good government” and now, with DOGE’s help, they can deliver on the voters’ mandate.

Comer stressed that the nation’s debt is “not acceptable,” and DOGE will play a critical role in curbing government spending. When asked if many bureaucrats could lose their jobs under DOGE, Comer responded, “I hope so,” adding that one contributing factor could be DOGE’s plan to reinstate mandatory in-person work after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, recently commented that in addition to requiring in-person work, her son and Ramaswamy plan to ask employees to account for their accomplishments each week. She argued that these two measures alone would “eliminate a lot of people” from their positions.
