Here’s fresh proof that America’s enemies mock President Biden, and they’ll likely do the same to his understudy, Vice President Kamala Harris, should she assume the top position: Iran has now delivered hundreds of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia, according to The Wall Street Journal on Friday.
These exports, along with thousands of Iranian drones and North Korean missiles, will enable Moscow to target civilian areas across Ukraine — while Washington continues to prevent Kyiv from using Western-supplied weapons to strike the airfields launching these attacks, or almost any military targets within Russia.
Iran has acted in defiance of repeated U.S. (and European) threats for months. It’s no surprise: Biden-Harris constantly say “Don’t!” and then fail to act when their adversaries do as they please. Whether it’s Biden telling Vladimir Putin “don’t” before his invasion of Ukraine, or Harris telling Central Americans “don’t” in regards to illegal border crossings, the result is the same.
Harris, who is even hesitant to face the U.S. media in a proper press conference, would likely be perceived as equally incapable of confronting real enemies by the likes of Putin or others.
Moreover, she’s set to inherit the same advisers responsible for Biden’s perceived weakness; and if she picks new ones, her track record as a California liberal suggests they’ll be even more dovish.
The Biden-Harris administration appears reluctant to confront Iran (or pressure the Europeans to) out of fear that Tehran might escalate tensions in the Middle East. On top of that, the Democratic establishment seems concerned about undermining Iran’s new, largely symbolic president, Masoud Pezeshkian, as if he might somehow restrain the regime’s power. Yet, as history has shown, no so-called “moderates” in Tehran’s puppet leadership have ever made a real difference.
Tehran’s strategy is clear: to bleed Israel through its proxies, while avoiding direct confrontation that would provoke an all-out Israeli retaliation against Iran. Meanwhile, The New York Times analysts speculate that “President Biden’s lame-duck status could hamper a response,” implying that Biden is too preoccupied with the fallout from his decision not to seek re-election to focus on his duties.
In truth, Biden has been ineffective on national security since day one, from opening the borders, to his catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, to lifting Trump-era sanctions on Iran. And let’s not forget his conciliatory approach towards Putin — who has invaded other countries under every U.S. president this century, except Trump.
It was President Barack Obama who intensified U.S. appeasement of Tehran, even before the infamous “nuclear accord”; Trump scrapped that deal and had Iran’s economy on the brink of collapse — until Biden resumed a softer approach. Harris, lacking any substantial foreign policy experience beyond attending photo ops, is unlikely to deviate from the Obama-Biden playbook — and her potential vice-presidential pick, Tim Walz, a progressive favorite, once quit the National Guard rather than face deployment to a combat zone.
So, if you’re looking for more U.S. humiliation, betrayed allies, and emboldened enemies, a Harris-Walz ticket would certainly deliver.
