Third-quarter fundraising reports for prominent GOP presidential candidates were released on Sunday. These reports play a crucial role in assessing the candidates’ political viability as they head into the final stretch before the official start of the primary season.
Former President Donald Trump, who maintains a substantial lead, surpassed all GOP competitors in fundraising. The top three contenders trailing Trump in fundraising are Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) data shows that Trump also leads in terms of cash on hand, with Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) coming in second, followed by DeSantis and then Haley.
In response to the report, Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Seven Cheung, stated to the Daily Caller, “Team Trump raised over $45.5 million in the third quarter, with $37.5 million cash on hand, completely outpacing any Republican candidate.”
Cheung further commented, “This movement is powered by grassroots support and everyday Americans who are fed up with living in the chaos of Joe Biden’s America. The fact is, President Trump will secure the nomination and defeat Biden because he is the only person who can revitalize the economy, protect our borders, secure communities, and put an end to unnecessary wars. Americans want to return to a prosperous nation, and there’s only one person who can make that happen – President Trump.”
As per the FEC data, Trump raised $24.5 million in the third quarter and has $37.5 million in cash on hand. DeSantis, in second place, reportedly raised $11.2 million and has $12.3 million in cash on hand.
