Since Donald J. Trump’s historic landslide victory in November’s U.S. presidential election, Mar-a-Lago has become a hub for political activity, attracting politicians, world leaders, and influential figures from across the globe.
Amid this flurry of activity, it has been widely reported that tech billionaire Elon Musk has taken up residence in one of the luxurious cottages at Trump’s Florida estate. Living full-time at Mar-a-Lago, Musk stays in the opulent Banyan Cottage—reported to cost $2,000 a night—alongside two of his children and their nannies.
According to The Sun, “The pair forged a close alliance throughout Trump’s campaign – with Musk now apparently sleeping just a few hundred feet away from the main house.”
Reports of friction between Musk and others in Trump’s circle appear to be overblown. Trump even extended an open invitation to Musk to attend the New Year’s Eve celebrations at Mar-a-Lago, signaling their close relationship.
By residing on the estate, Musk’s proximity to the president-elect facilitates regular interactions. It is said that Musk attends important dinners and meetings, including ones with influential figures like Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.
A glimpse into Musk’s role reveals a deep level of involvement. Having invested more than $250 million to support Trump’s campaign, Musk has gained access to exclusive meetings. He has reportedly sat in on strategy discussions at the Mar-a-Lago Teahouse, participated in calls with foreign leaders, and spent hours conversing with Trump in his private office.
While questions remain about whether Musk is personally covering the high cost of his accommodations, their working relationship remains stronger than ever.
“Despite reports of a rift in the new MAGA camp – the pair appear to be closer than ever,” sources report.
