Joe Biden once again distanced himself from Kamala Harris when asked if Governor DeSantis should take her calls regarding hurricane response.
“Does Governor DeSantis need to take Vice President Harris’s calls?” a reporter asked Biden.
Biden sidestepped the question, suggesting a strained relationship with Harris. “All I can tell you is I’ve talked to Gov. DeSantis. He’s been very gracious. He’s thanked me for all we’ve done. He knows what we’re doing, and I think that’s important,” Biden replied.

Earlier this week, Harris criticized Ron DeSantis, accusing him of “playing political games” as Florida prepared for another hurricane. She falsely claimed DeSantis was refusing to take her calls.

Governor Ron DeSantis fired back, saying, “She has no role in this process.”

Biden also contradicted Harris earlier this week, clarifying DeSantis had been cooperative. “The governor of Florida has been cooperative and gotten all that he needs. I talked to him yesterday. I said no, you’re doing a great job and we thank you for it,” Biden said, debunking Harris’s claim that DeSantis was ignoring her.

In another instance, Biden undermined Harris by linking her to his administration’s challenges, saying, “We’re singing from the same song sheet. She helped pass all the laws. She was a major player in everything we’ve done.”
