President Joe Biden has reportedly reached out to President-elect Donald Trump, his former political opponent, to congratulate him on his victory in the 2024 presidential election.
Biden commended Trump during their call on Wednesday, acknowledging his performance and success in Tuesday night’s election. During the conversation, Biden also extended an invitation for Trump to visit the White House to discuss the upcoming transition between their administrations.
White House officials indicated that staff are working to set an official date “in the near future” for Trump to visit and meet with the current Commander-in-Chief.
Reports also reveal that Biden contacted Vice President Kamala Harris to commend her efforts in the campaign, despite its outcome. Biden is scheduled to address the nation on Thursday.
