On Friday, Barack Obama posted a photo of himself and Michelle Obama amid swirling rumors of marital troubles.
Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama. You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life's adventures with you. Love you! pic.twitter.com/WTrvxlNVa4

“Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama. You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!”
The post comes as speculation mounts, fueled by Michelle Obama’s absence from significant public events, including Jimmy Carter’s funeral and the announcement that she will not attend Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration.
A spokesperson for Michelle Obama stated:
“Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration.”
Hearing serious talk that the reason Michelle isn't at the funeral isn't that she wasn't invited, but that she and Barack are on the outs

Barack Obama attended Jimmy Carter’s funeral solo, with reports claiming Michelle was unavailable due to a “scheduling conflict.”
Adding to the chatter, a resurfaced interview from two years ago revealed Michelle openly discussing marital challenges. Speaking to Revolt, she said:
“There were 10 years where I couldn’t stand my husband… For 10 years, while we’re trying to build our careers and worrying about school and who was doing what, I was like, ‘Argh, this isn’t even.’”
Michelle explained marriage isn’t always equal, remarking:
“Marriage isn’t 50/50, ever. There are times I’m 70, he’s 30. There are times he’s 60, I’m 40. But guess what? I would take 10 bad years over 30. It’s just how you look at it.”
Author Edward Klein previously claimed Michelle had even begun drafting divorce papers in 2000 before the couple managed to reconcile.
For now, speculation continues, fueled by notable public absences and past admissions, but there is no official confirmation regarding the state of their marriage.
