Alina Habba declared Thursday that she will not step down from her role as acting U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey, despite a federal judicial panel voting against the extension of her term.
Habba, formerly a personal defense attorney for President Donald Trump, announced the change in her title in a public statement.
“Donald J. Trump is the 47th President. Pam Bondi is the Attorney General. And I am now the Acting United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey,” Habba wrote. “I don’t cower to pressure. I don’t answer to politics. This is a fight for justice. And I’m all in.”
