A man wearing a shirt identical to that of accused murderer Tyler Robinson, who allegedly killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been taken into custody for vandalizing a memorial dedicated to Kirk in downtown Phoenix.
The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Ryder Corral, was apprehended by bystanders after reportedly walking through the memorial area and kicking over flowers, vases, and balloons placed in Kirk’s honor. The incident was recorded on video, showing several bystanders restraining Corral.
Witnesses noted that Corral traversed approximately fifteen yards of the tribute before being stopped. He was subsequently arrested by a police officer present at the scene.
Phoenix Police confirmed that Corral faces multiple charges related to the incident, including criminal damage and disorderly conduct. “Corral will be booked on multiple charges to include criminal damage and disorderly conduct,” stated the police department.
Video footage from the incident shows Corral wearing a black shirt featuring an eagle emblem over an American flag, which closely resembles the shirt Robinson was seen wearing during the alleged murder, as indicated by FBI-released images.
Authorities have yet to disclose any potential connections between Corral and Robinson, though the FBI is investigating various left-wing groups in Utah for any possible prior knowledge of the crime or assistance provided to Robinson afterward.
One of the groups under scrutiny deleted its social media accounts shortly after the shooting.
This event follows a concerning wave of support for Kirk’s murder from certain segments of the political left. Numerous individuals have been documented celebrating the murder on social media, with some suggesting that Kirk brought it upon himself.
Social media users, including the owner of the Aesthetica account on X, have chronicled these alarming reactions, while one activist group is set to launch a searchable database cataloging over 50,000 instances of leftist celebrations regarding the murder. This database, titled “Expose Charlies Mvrderers,” is anticipated to go live in the coming days.
