Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has called for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s client list, just days after Elon Musk accused him of being connected to Epstein.
“Bundle everything together you’ve got — sealed and unsealed — and release it all,” Bannon said during his “War Room” podcast on Thursday, according to The Hill. “Or, which I called for yesterday, appoint a special prosecutor — [Trump] should appoint a special prosecutor, a special counsel now for the 2020 election and everything after that.
“Include Russiagate and all this,” he added. “You have to do that. That should be done immediately.”
Bannon insisted that if federal agencies can’t investigate thoroughly, someone independent should step in.
His remarks followed Musk’s claim earlier in the week that Bannon appeared in Epstein-related documents.
Longtime GOP political operative Roger Stone questioned Bannon’s alleged ties, asking: “Why would Bannon meet with Jeffrey Epstein both at his New York home and in Paris after Epstein was convicted on sex crimes in Florida? Why would he coach Epstein for his 60 Minutes appearance?”
To that, Musk responded: “Bannon is in the Epstein files.”

This controversy also arises as the Department of Justice and the FBI continue to assert that Epstein died by suicide and that no comprehensive client list exists.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Deputy Director Dan Bongino have all come under fire for what many see as a reversal in the pursuit of truth in the Epstein case.
Some argue that the list may be too complex to immediately identify wrongdoers, with individuals possibly linked to Epstein for unrelated reasons. Others speculate that the presence of wealthy donors or prominent Washington figures has made officials reluctant to release it.
There’s also skepticism that even with a special prosecutor, the investigation might stall or become politicized, drawing attention away from actual findings.
If powerful interests in D.C. are determined to bury the truth, the public may never see the full picture.
Despite this, Bannon’s call and public pressure continue to demand answers on the Epstein case, election controversies, and what many view as a broader cover-up.
