President Trump has issued what appears to be a serious warning to Israel as left-leaning prosecutors in the country push to imprison Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over what many call baseless charges.
According to Jim Hoft, Trump was outraged after learning Netanyahu was ordered back to court on Monday as part of a years-long legal case. The timing came just two days after Israel and Iran reached a ceasefire, marking the end of one of the most significant battles in modern Israeli history. Critics say prosecutors wasted no time in resuming their pursuit of Netanyahu, ignoring the gravity of the moment.
Trump pointed out that this is the first time a sitting Israeli Prime Minister has faced trial, calling the charges “ridiculous” and referencing alleged offenses involving cigars and even a Bugs Bunny doll.
Trump demanded the trial be dropped or Netanyahu be pardoned. While he did not specify exact consequences, his latest statement on Truth Social hinted strongly that failure to end the prosecution could lead to the loss of U.S. foreign aid to Israel.
“It is terrible what they are doing in Israel to Bibi Netanyahu. He is a War Hero, and a Prime Minister who did a fabulous job working with the United States to bring Great Success in getting rid of the dangerous Nuclear threat in Iran. Importantly, he is right now in the process of negotiating a Deal with Hamas, which will include getting the Hostages back.”
“How is it possible that the Prime Minister of Israel can be forced to sit in a Courtroom all day long, over NOTHING (Cigars, Bugs Bunny Doll, etc.)? It is a POLITICAL WITCH HUNT, very similar to the Witch Hunt that I was forced to endure. This travesty of ‘Justice’ will interfere with both Iran and Hamas negotiations. In other words, it is INSANITY doing what the out-of-control prosecutors are doing to Bibi Netanyahu.”
“The United States of America spends Billions of Dollars a year, far more than on any other Nation, protecting and supporting Israel. We are not going to stand for this. We just had a Great Victory with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu at the helm — And this greatly tarnishes our Victory. LET BIBI GO, HE’S GOT A BIG JOB TO DO!”
The United States currently provides Israel with roughly $4 billion in military aid annually — more than nearly any other country receives. For Israel, the potential loss of that funding is no small threat. And given Trump’s history, few believe he’s merely bluffing.
