President Donald J. Trump delivered a powerful address at Turning Point Action’s AmFest convention in Phoenix, Arizona, marking his first major rally-style speech since his historic November 5 election win.
Thousands of enthusiastic supporters flooded downtown Phoenix before sunrise, with many lining up as early as 1:00 a.m. local time for the event at the Phoenix Convention Center. The crowd erupted with cheers as Trump took the stage following an epic introduction by Turning Point USA and Turning Point Action founder Charlie Kirk.
“All of you have worked so hard to get back into the White House in this state. This is the best-performing swing state with a five-and-a-half-point victory,” said Kirk. “We have all 50 states represented here in this grassroots movement of the greatest American comeback in the history of our country… Thank you, God, for giving us Donald Trump and giving our country back.”
Before Trump’s entrance, the crowd was shown a dramatic recap of the past year, highlighting the struggles and triumphs of his campaign, including attacks from the Biden administration’s Department of Justice and attempts to undermine the election. Despite all obstacles, Trump achieved a sweeping victory, winning all seven swing states, 312 electoral votes, the popular vote, and both chambers of Congress. He becomes the second president in U.S. history to serve non-consecutive terms.
Trump’s Opening Remarks
Addressing the crowd, Trump said:
“I want to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas. They don’t say that too much anymore. We say it.”
Celebrating his landslide victory, Trump added, “We won a battle that a lot of people thought was very hard to win. Remember when I said it: Too big to rig. We make it too big to rig, we’re going to win. It really was one of the great political victories in the history of our country.”
Trump spoke of his victory in Arizona, a state critical to his 2024 success. “We carried the great state of Arizona, something not easy for a Republican to do, but it was easy for us to do, and we had more than a six-point landslide. That’s called a landslide here.”
Reflecting on the Election’s Impact
Trump emphasized the historic nature of the 2024 election:
“They said, one of the very big radical left newspapers said, the most consequential election in the last 129 years… We blew ‘em away. So, we won all seven swing states. Can you believe it?”
He also celebrated Republican victories in Congress, noting, “Not only did we reclaim the White House, we also took back the U.S. Senate, and we won the largest popular vote majority for House Republicans in a presidential year since 1928.”
Gratitude and Vision
Trump expressed gratitude to Charlie Kirk, calling him “an amazing guy,” and praised Turning Point Action’s role in mobilizing a grassroots movement.
As Trump concluded his remarks, the crowd erupted in applause, signifying the unshaken momentum of what he called “the greatest political comeback in American history.”
