President Trump criticized the Biden administration on Saturday, accusing it of sabotaging his America First agenda by selling “desperately needed border wall materials for pennies on the dollar” during its final weeks in office.
As previously reported, the Biden administration is auctioning off vast quantities of unused border wall materials that have been left unused in the Arizona desert since Biden assumed office. According to the GovPlanet auction website, enough materials to construct up to half a mile of wall are being transported daily to be sold, starting at just $5 per “32.91’ X 7.91’ Steel Bollard Wall Sections w/Grout.”
“They are taking it from three stations: Nogales, Tucson, and Three Points,” a Border Patrol agent told investigative reporter James Lalino. “The goal is to move all of it off the border before Christmas.”
Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) criticized the move, saying, “The American people gave President Trump a mandate in November, which included the fulfillment of his plans to secure the border. Any last-ditch attempt to obstruct this mandate by the Biden administration would be a direct affront to the will of the people.”
President Trump also addressed the issue on Truth Social, highlighting Biden’s contradictory actions:
“Joe Biden keeps talking about a smooth transition and unified government, and yet he races to sell desperately needed border wall for pennies on the dollar. It will cost the U.S. a fortune, and time, to get the exact same wall to replace what has been sold, and the new wall will cost triple the price. It is CRAZY, and must be stopped.”
Trump’s pick for Voice of America Director, Kari Lake, suggested, “Somebody should buy these and donate them back to the Trump administration so we can finish the wall.”

Meanwhile, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick vowed to acquire all of the unsold materials in Texas and “give it to Donald Trump” to complete the border wall.
Trump supporters argue the Democrats are using their remaining time in power to harm efforts to secure the border, with critics labeling the sale of these materials as wasteful and counterproductive to taxpayer-funded projects.
