Texas officials were quick to act after hearing that the Biden administration is auctioning off dismantled parts of the border wall. Armed with resources and determination, they intend to reclaim the materials for border security efforts.
Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced the plan during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “I don’t know if you’ve heard the latest, Laura, but Joe Biden is now hauling off the border wall that’s been lying down for years, and he wants to auction it off starting at $5 apiece,” Patrick stated.
He continued, “Message to the White House right now: I will bid on all of that wall, and we will buy it in Texas, and we will give it to Donald Trump.”

Videos shared by the Daily Wire show flatbed trucks transporting sections of the dismantled wall near Tucson, Arizona. According to the outlet, the Biden administration is removing wall materials from three locations in Arizona—Nogales, Tucson, and Three Points—and listing them for sale on GovPlanet, an auction site for surplus government equipment.
“The Biden administration is using its final weeks to haul a massive amount of border wall materials away from the southern border to be sold off in a government auction, an apparent effort to hinder President-elect Donald Trump’s effort to secure the border,” the Daily Wire reported.

Patrick, however, seems confident in outmaneuvering this move. “I’ve got a billion dollars in my pocket to do it,” he declared, referring to the funds set aside for border security. “We’re gonna have about $6 billion in our budget for border security. We’ll buy it. I will go in and buy it all.”

Patrick called the auction “despicable,” criticizing the decision to sell off taxpayer-funded border wall components. He also suggested investigating the truckloads of dismantled sections to ensure compliance with regulations, hinting at taking a firm stance against this federal decision.
This effort reflects Texas’s commitment to pushing back against federal actions they view as counterproductive to securing the southern border, with the materials poised to play a key role in bolstering the state’s border initiatives.
