As reported by The Gateway Pundit, President Trump announced on Wednesday that Kari Lake will serve as the new Director of Voice of America. The Kari Lake War Room account celebrated the announcement by sharing a clip of Lake smashing through the Fake News Media narrative, calling it “poetic justice.”
“The Fake News spent years trying to silence her, and now, thanks to President Trump, she has a bigger global reach & voice than all of them,” the post read.
The move comes as Lake, known for her staunch support of Trump and her criticisms of election irregularities, prepares to oversee the U.S. international broadcasting network. The leftist media, which has often clashed with Lake, is reportedly unsettled by the decision.
During her Thursday interview on War Room, Steve Bannon introduced Lake, highlighting her passion and patriotism as perfect for the position. Reflecting on her journey, Lake recounted stepping away from her 27-year career as a nightly news anchor during the pandemic over what she saw as government misinformation.
“I walked away from a very lucrative contract during COVID,” Lake stated, “after the government was pushing so many lies about COVID, its origins, what kind of treatment we were allowed to have… and then the 2020 election… I did not want to sit and push the government line anymore.”
Lake described her goal as modernizing Voice of America and ensuring accurate coverage of the nation’s achievements under the upcoming Trump administration.
“I’m really looking forward to telling the story of America’s renewal to the world,” she said. “We’re going to ensure this administration is covered in a fair and accurate manner. Over the next four years, we’re going to have an even better story to tell.”
Lake emphasized her intention to incorporate modern platforms like social media to expand Voice of America’s global reach in 48 different languages. “We’re entering a new Golden Era, and it would be a shame for it to be misrepresented by the same fake news narratives we see domestically.”
She concluded, “I’m honored to serve in this administration, proud of President Trump’s leadership, and excited for what lies ahead. America is entering a period of great resurgence, and the world deserves to see it portrayed truthfully.”
